Your Weekly Local Newsletter on everything going on in Horsham District
Thursday, 10th September 2026
Welcome back! We took a pause over the summer, but The HD Loop is now full steam ahead.
Quick one before we get into it: we've just gone past 300 people getting this in their inbox every week, thank you. If there's someone in Horsham District who'd enjoy it, forwarding this on would mean a lot. 🎉
Onto the week itself: Leonardslee's open-air cinema opens on the House Lawn on Friday for three nights under the stars, Horsham are back on home turf in the National League South on Saturday against Chesham United, and the Park Podium season continues on Sunday with East Grinstead Concert Band. On the council side, plans to improve the Bishopric have moved a step closer, and Horsham Museum has now closed its doors until January for essential roof repairs.
The weather's a bit of a mixed bag: cloudy to start, drier than expected through Friday, but keep an eye on Sunday which could bring a spell of rain.
Enjoy the week. 🌿

🏡 Local favourite
New House Farm Shop, Faygate
New House Farm Shop sits just off the Horsham to Crawley road in Faygate, and it's become the go-to stop for anyone who wants their weekly shop to actually mean something. The philosophy is straightforwardly local and seasonal: fruit and veg largely from Munneries in Shoreham, plus Nutbourne tomatoes and Ringden Farm apples when in season, and meat delivered twice weekly, including award-winning sausages from Bangers Galore, a Horsham institution of over 30 years.
The dairy counter runs on Downsview Dairy milk and ice cream and Tims Dairy yoghurts, the bread is baked daily by Jengers Bakery, and a mobile fishmonger calls in every Friday. For something to drink, there are English wines from Bolney Estate and beers and ciders from Long Man Brewery and other local producers.
It's the kind of shop that makes you want to cook something properly at the weekend, and no, they haven't paid us to say any of that, we just like it.

🧠 Horsham Trivia
Which world-famous Romantic poet was born at Field Place, in Warnham just outside Horsham, in 1792?
Hit reply with your guess. We'll print the answer, and whoever got it, in next week's edition.
🍽️ Where to eat
Monte Forte, East Street
If you haven't tried Monte Forte yet, it's worth putting right. Tucked onto East Street, this Neapolitan pizzeria has been going since 2017 and has built a genuine following on doing one thing very well: proper wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, made with care.
The ethos runs right through the place too, "Pizza. Passion. People." isn't just a slogan; 100% of tips go straight to staff, split evenly across every role. If you're after a lower-key visit, Saturday Sessions (2pm–2:30pm) and Thursday Afterwork Sessions (5pm–6pm) are both worth knowing about.
A properly good option for a quick lunch, a family dinner, or a slice on the way home.
